You've spent so much time being a good mother on this trip you need a bit of mothering yourself. So put your arms around yourself, tip your head to your shoulder, close your eyes, take a deep breath, sway a bit and give yourself a hug from me. ...Been forgetting to check in again, haven't I?
Yes, it surely is understandable you'd be wanting a respite clasped to an understanding woman.
Never knew bison could look quite like that picture.
We may be distinctly in the minority, but I really hear you about Mount Rushmore, all the more with the Black Hills being sacred to the Lakota. The kiddie shows really loved Mount Rushmore when I was familiar with them, and I wasn't the only one to notice. One Saturday morning a promo for the next cartoon showed the characters' pet monkey, in true Hollywood tradition, trying to tell them something. He lined up four little rocks and began putting coins on them. "Not Mount Rushmore AGAIN!" Mom exclaimed, and laughed and changed the channel.
Love you.Ritanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8126032.post-407462523332819922011-06-05T18:20:54.076-07:002011-06-05T18:20:54.076-07:00Hey Miss Kitty,

Dinosaurs, and pink eye and tortilla chips, oh my! Makes me want to get on the road. Hope you're hanging in there. Must be rough- almost 7 months. I've developed quite the waddle and my brisk NYC pace has slowed to a mellow saunter. As long as I get there. It is about the journey, right? Can't wait til Summertime. :P Yikes! Apparently our little one is practicing kick boxing already! Ouch! I'll check in again soon. Hope the rest of your journey goes well. Looking forward to the next episode.

Love,

MaryMarynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8126032.post-47943051974739465302011-06-05T09:54:15.372-07:002011-06-05T09:54:15.372-07:00oh, and great photos too! especially the boots!oh, and great photos too! especially the boots!Susannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18001722201202387297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8126032.post-65681903384960715842011-06-05T09:52:51.380-07:002011-06-05T09:52:51.380-07:00I love your story of the woman in the visitor cent...I love your story of the woman in the visitor center, and the perfect camping spot to follow. It does look very lovely, especially floating down the stream on a giant inner tube.

And I also love the vision of the "all male" wooly mammoths doin' what they do...Susannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18001722201202387297noreply@blogger.com
